Montefrio is a delightful and unusual town, nestling in a valley with the town rising on all sides and on the hilltop overlooking the village is the old Arab Castle and in the valley below the neolithic dolmens. Close by the neolithic La Pena de los Gitanos (Crag of the Gypsies) are agreat attraction and also below the castle is the famous Gothic-Renaissance Parish Church - Iglesia de la Encarnacion with its original dome (cupola).
